9005 or 9006? silverstars
ok now that i got my check i want to spend some money on modding my car a bit,
the one things that has bothering me a bit was the needles on my instrument panel? so is that lextech site the only place where i can get new needles because 100 for a new set of needles is a bit pricey and maybe i need to think about that now a bit more
BUT my main point is that i want to put new bulbs in my 93 es300 because my stock ones are well not that bright anymore and searching i get confused on which to buy ? should i get the 9005's or the 9006's because i went to wal-mart and the computer there said i can use both the bulbs?
p.s. any one know where i can buy some fog lights too b/c one of mine is broken and i dont like to see it like that
thanks

You can also go to Wal-mart to buy bulbs for your fog lights, but first you should first check out your fogs and see if one of your bulbs is actually burnt out (and not the wires).

Mmmmmm No.
Just mod some 9005 silverstars to fit (Cut/grnd/melt the one interffereing tab down slightly, or say F that, go to wall-mart & buy the 9005 bulb ring. 3 screws = done), or drop some HIR's in them.
HID > HIR > 100watt halogen mod > Silverstar/PIAA > New regular > Any old non-HID/HIR bulb.

If you buy from him, ask him if you get one bulb, or two. He seems fishy.
Personally... I would buy a bright *** 9011 (That's the 9005 socket), and mod it to fit the 9006 hole. That would be the best conversion you could possibly do without going HID's. Several Camry's have done this, but no ES/Windom that I know of. Panzies

9006 = low beam
9005 = high beam
9011 = 9005 harness
9012 = 9006 harness
If you want to not mod them buy the 9012's.
If you don't mind modding them, give the larger 9011's a try.

Interesting link:

9006 Low beams in low beam housing:
9005 High beams in high beam housing:
Those HIR's just owned, hardcore. Look at that 9011 HIR, daaaaaaaamn!!!
On the flip side:
Life @ 14.4v:
9011 greater than 235 hours
9012 1000 hours.
May seem bad & we all know the lucky few can charge @ 14.4 volts, but most of these cars will charge @ 13.2v, so the life will probably be longer than 255hours. And the 9011 bulb was only drawing 12.6V @ 5.1 amps, which equates to 64.2 watts.
Eh, who knows. That's longer than the published lifepsans of PIAA Extreme's & Silver Stars. There are pleanty of us that have run either of those bulbs for years, and others that only get so many months out of them - go figure.
