Default shift ****

How do you take off the stock shift ****. I just purchased the wood and leather one exactly like the one from itune. Any suggestions?

If I remember correctly from the L-tuned website, isn't the wood shift **** listed for the ES pictured like that for the GS model (see pic below)?

From the looks of that ****, it appears to screw in to a stud (just like in all the GS and the '02+ ES), but the confusion I'm seeing is that the shift **** for the '97-'01 ES seems to be fastened differently, correct me if I'm wrong. Plus, the factory shift **** contains the overdrive button, which is not readily available with other aftermarket *****.

That what I noticed, but I tuned listed 97 and said it worked. I won it on ebay and the seller also listed it to work for the es 300 and es 330.

I think the Ebay seller meant for the **** to work for the '02-'03 ES300 and the '04-'05 ES330 only. If this is exactly the **** you got like the one in the pic above, then it looks like that particularly **** won't fit in your '97. I believe the L-tuned site has misinformation regarding the shift ***** for the ES

I've wanted a new shift **** since I bought the car. I figured maybe there was a rod to connect to the shift **** under the stock one. I say the l tune website after looking at a recent topic about 2 possible mods for es, and I saw the shift **** and the specically states that it fits a 97, so I went on ebay and say the exact one and the seller said it fit a lexus es 300. So I won the auction and I might not be able to use it.

If I remember right, just pop the tab off and unscrew the leather piece. And the rest should be self explanatory.
