Default Shift ****

Anyone try putting an aftermarket shift **** on their ES? I bought one universal momo one and it's really nice but none of the adapters it came with fit snug. What diameter is the es stock shift **** on? It's frustrating knowing something that universally fits most automatic cars doesn't fit this one.

Of all the things I thought about changing on the ES, the shift **** was never a consideration. What's your issue with it?

Even on the smallest adapter my **** came with it still wiggles when put on my es shaft. Seems Toyota uses screw on ***** and the one I have bought has these rubber inserts that make the **** hole smaller as to fit the shaft.

Yep thats' how they work. the rubber cover squeezes inside the **** channel and held on by tension.

Not the best fitment in all cases but its not a part you really pull up on for the most part.

But it'll never be tight. I suppose you could put a dab of silicone under the cap, and also in the **** channel too. It'll be more snug and not permanent.

Good luck.

going to auto parts store to see if they have screw on adapters to see if it can make it at least a little more snug

It's an item that a huge focus on changing in the aftermarket. Of course, the ES is not a big aftermarket car so won't get many replies here. Still, clublexus is the best place to ask this. Some Facebook Lexus groups might give you more advice on this, since Facebook is used by a younger crowd.

Surprisingly, autozone and advance auto parts didn't have anything to help. No adapters that didn't already come with a shift ****
