This thread is a perfect example of why fixed pricing would never work. These are some awesome deals that wouldn't happen if you walked into the dealer and signed the sales order w/o negotiating.

Bob- Can't do that with a Tesla. No negotiating, and there's a waiting list?

I believe that to be correct Art and also, I think he's cut out the dealer as well. Direct sales to the consumer...

Yes - my son just bought a new Tesla - the price is what it is - I think he got some kind of $1k on line discount is all. He got the low price Model S which was around $75k OTD - but then gets a $10k fed/state credit when he files this year's taxes. Except for signing documents when he picked it up, he did the whole transaction electronically on his cell phone - took about 3 weeks from time of order to pick up. I've gotta say - it's a really nice vehicle - he loves it.
