Should I buy an ES350-do you like your car?
Hi everyone just saw the ES today and it's nice! I want to drive my next car for quite awhile and want something reliable. Like the look of the refreshed ES. Did any of you purchase your 2016? How was the total cost OTD? Were you happy? What about the brake recall is it something to worry about...would you wait for 2017? Since it's almost the summer now. Would appreciate any advice...big decision. Thanks

Well if you can wait, I'd wait until September or even the end of the year. That's when you can get the best deals. In September, you can probably get a pretty good deal on 2016s since the 2017s will be rolling onto the lots around then.

It'd be hard to go wrong with an ES unless you were looking for something that you 'feel the road' and feels 'excitingly sporty and engaging'...in which case there's tons of cars (and SUVs) to choose from. Too many if you ask me, our roads are in poor shape, I don't want to feel them. If you want a classy, quiet, smooth oasis to remove you from the road, there's few to choose from, and ES is one of them. It's also reliable, fast and will handle anything you're likely to throw at it, its not floaty and 2016 it got better tuning and quieter, it just won't entice you to push it like the GS or IS. I'd look for 10% off and longer you wait for '17, better deal you will get. Brake recall is a non issue IMO.

Thanks everyone. I think I just have to get over the size. I typically drive cars the size of the IS with a lower front end so I'll have to get used to perceiving where the front end is in relation to things...

I bet a quick learning curve. Like a new pair of shoes, just a little time to feel at home. Go slow, and if has parking assist, will help.

The ES isn't really that big. In terms of comparing it to the IS, maybe. For someone who drove the GX for the last 20 months...this thing is TINY.

That's funny, put me in GX and I wouldn't know how to drive it sad, need to venture out of the compact car segment. And people wonder why they complain of women drivers lol

I have a 2009 LS 460L that I just purchased. My dad 2 months later buys an '13ES300h with ML, Radar Cruise, etc...,. now I'm wishing I had purchased an ES.
Crazy I know but the new ES is amazing.

This car is our mule. We us it on trips as well as day to day stuff. It's got plenty of room, it's comfortable, great safety features. And the best part is THEY DON'T BREAK!
These are dependable, comfortable, safe, good looking vehicles. Hard to see how you can go wrong with one.

good to hear. So now that they're made in the Kentucky does that concern you like others on this forum since you're a long time owner of the Japanese made ones?
We just swapped our 2010 ES350 (60K mi) for a 2016 ES350. The '10 had no issues and was still going strong. I just thought I'd be nice to my wife. She's been driving ES's since the first ES250 in 1991, and my 90yr old mother is still driving my wife's '94 in Florida.
