Default My ES now has a stablemate.

Back in Dec. I sold my '06 LS in an effort to "simplify" my life by going down to one car (the '16 ES UL). I've regretted the decision ever since. So today I did something about it! I bought this:

This is a '06 Modern Luxury with '18 wheels and 117k miles. The car has the most extensive service history of any used car that I've owned. The car was serviced every 5k miles by a Lexus or Toyota dealership.

Although my '16 ES UL is a great car, I've never owned a car that rides better than a LS430.

The thought has crossed my mind to also delete one car and keep the Lexus ES 350. Share with us your regrets regarding having only one car... Your "new" LS looks really nice for a 10 year old car with 117k on the clock.

Last Dec. I decided to simplify my life on all dimensions -- going down to one car, reducing my number of credit cards, getting rid of unused or infrequently used clothes, and even cutting my Facebook friends list in half. I justified the car decision by saying that the '06 LS has old tech (no MP3, no USB, none of the newest safety features) whereas my '16 ES UL has everything. So I put my '06 Mercury Metallic LS430 for sale on eBay on Fri., 11 Dec. It sold within 6 hours! I sold it to a lawyer in Alabama. I'll admit that I was very sad when he drove away with it the next day.

The regret has continued. Over the past 6 months I've felt a big void. The LS430 is, hands down, the best car that I've ever driven. The smoothness, power, and refinement are second to none. The car is also bulletproof. So despite my interest in simplicity, I decided that I needed to get another LS430. Good ones are hard to find. I searched in earnest for about 4 weeks and made a successful purchase yesterday.
