Default Passenger Navigation use while moving

I normally have a passenger in the car. It would really be convenient if they could operate the Nav unit while the car is moving. Is there any type of program or over-ride, or modification to make this possible?

You can purchase a bypass system like Beat Sonic or Prestigious Society, that will allow you to access more features while in movement. It will require some disassembly of the dash to install correctly.

There are no overrides or simple plug-and-play systems.

We were on a trip this week in my wife's 300h. For navigation, since we could not input on the fly, I would have my son use Google Maps on is iPhone. Google Maps directions are great and much better than the navigation on the vehicle.

As an aside, one time he used Google Maps, and I used Apple Maps. The Google Maps are still much better than Apple Maps.

Driver or passenger can input addresses on the fly, press the "talk" button (twice allows you to skip the tutorial), "Address", "Chicago". "Main", "123". Done. System will offer North/South East/West Main if applicable. Will ask to choose if multiple Street/Drive/Blvd/Court are available.

You wouldn't need the passenger to do that; the driver can say the address themselves. It seems more accurate when the driver does it.

BTW, you can turn off tutorial when pushing the Voice button in settings.

I installed one and it works great. Just be sure to get some pull tools for your car's interior. It's a little scary, but it reinstalled nice and snug (no clattering sounds after re-assembly). Since it is a plug in, you won't have to splice any wires....
