There should be a whole list of items that will be coming or have come already from LFS. Basically its anything beyond "normal" wear and tear. Chips, parking lot dings, minor curb rash are all fine but beyond that you're liable

My family owns a 2013 ES350, and when ever you purchase a new Lexus your first two years of scheduled maintenance is free, ours ended this month. So every 10,000 miles, they check tires, rotate and balance, oil, battery, rubber parts for premature deterioration, etc. and let's not forget the complimentary car washes.

Left is after correction, right is after the dealer washed my car ONCE
And yes, I made the dealer pay to get the paint corrected.

I too have had cars seriously damaged after ONE dealer wash.

you have some very noticeable orange peel. guess ithought this was nonexistent on the japan built es. i have the atomic silver and i'd be hard pressed to see any.

If you have an up close shot of any factory paint job you will see orange peel like that.

Unless your dealer is adding on extra free maintenance coverage on its own, that information is not correct. The only free maintenance visits that Lexus includes with a new vehicle are the 6 month or 5000 mile maintenance, which is only a tire rotation and vehicle inspection, and the 1 year or 10,000 mile maintenance, which includes an oil change, tire rotation, and vehicle inspection.

I haven't had any bad experiences with my local dealers washing my cars, and we have owned 3 Lexus'. Although I have always hand washed and detailed the cars my self, there were a few times where my mom has taken her ES to a Mister Carwash, now that or any place like it is the worst place to go to get your cars washed.

And this is actually a pic of my G37, in Malbec Black.
Ive yet to find ANY black car without at least a little orange peel.
And yes our Atomic SIlver ES has some orange peel. Its just a way of life as far as Im concerned.
Im sure I could reject 5 or 6 cars before getting one that is better than what we have. And Im not about to sit there and start rejecting cars left and right *hoping* to get a better one.
The truth is we arent buying $100K+ cars. Hell, even my friends Tesla has some orange peel and that *is* a $100K car.

I'm sorry, it is first 2 scheduled maintenance. But with maintenance being needed only every 10,000 miles it works out to be about 2 years depending on how much you drive. I.e. right now on our '13 the free maintenance has ended, but we only have about 24k miles on it. That's about 12k miles a year. So wouldn't it be a safe bet to say it's complimentary maintenance for two years for most drivers?
