Is HID included in Lane Departure Alert option?
Just ordered a 2015 ES300h. My dealer says that the HID option is part of the "Lane Departure Alert with Intelligent High-beam Headlights" feature, so no need to order the HID separately. However, I've not been able to confirm this online or in any of the ES reviews.
Can someone please confirm whether this is the case or not?

It was ordered loaded. I specifically told them that the HIDS needed to be ordered along with the ultra Luxury Package and ML.
I picked up the car with no HIDS. Projector Beam Headlights was listed on the Window Sticker. They are white an light up the road, but they are not HIDS. They had no clue as to the difference. They did not even know that the Lexus Enform remote start could be started with the key fob and not just the App.

If they're white then they're probably HID - open the hood and look for a high voltage sticker on the headlight assembly. The low beams should be white HID while the high beams are yellowish halogens.
Over in my neck of the woods, even the base ES300h comes with HID and LDA/BSM packages are added on top. I'm surprised your dealer would make such a huge mistake with the ordering, you should be entitled to a different car if they really messed up.

I had the worst experience with my dealer...I just wanted out of there. 6 cars from them since 2010.
Sad thing is that they had no knowledge of the car and what is what. I knew more then they did.
I hate confrontation so I just signed and drove off. 5 days latter not even a phone call.

Do you also have the "Lane Departure Alert" feature on your vehicle? Dealer is claiming that HID is part of the LDA option and thus no need to worry about ordering separately. I don't want to end up without it when I could have clarified on the front-end of the order. Thanks.

Sticker mentions nothing about HID only Projector Lighting system.

EDIT: I've attached my sticker where in one place it shows projector and in options lists HID

Headlight HID warning sticker
Do you have a big yellow warning sticker on the headlight assembly itself with an icon of a stick man getting zapped? See the attached image in my post https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es3...ml#post8826876
The sticker should say:
Caution
Low beam headlight
High voltage inside
If you have that, you definitely have HID low beams. I've seen ES250's with halogen low beams and they're a lot yellower than HID.

I guess HIDs are separate from the UL package, as evident from the Optional Eqipment list on Page 2 of Atoyota's sticker. The cost of those HIDs are the same on my Premium package.

It's sad that salesman and even technology specialist had no clue about it. Would have made my experience a lot better.

I don't know for sure whether the lane departure warning option includes hid headlights, but I have few thoughts.
First, with my 2013 ES, the hid headlights appear on the window sticker as a separate extra cost option.
Also, I'm guessing that there are some who have the standard halogen projector beam headlights and think that they have hid headlights. The standard halogen projector beam lights that Lexus uses are actually quite "white" and bright. While I have the hid lights on my ES, my GX has the halogen projector beam lights. Just looking at the light from the GX halogen headlights, I could easily think that they were hid, but, if I park the ES and the GX next to each other in the garage and turn on the headlights on both vehicles, that is when it is easy to see the difference in light output from the two systems.
I find the Lexus website to be somewhat confusing. If I click on the "build your Lexus" button and try to build a 2015 ES and if I choose the Luxury package, I'm told that, with the Luxury package, I'm required to buy the hid headlights (for $515), and the lane departure warning system is listed as a separate option choice. If, on the other hand, I choose the Ultra Luxury package, I'm not required to buy the hid lights, but both the hid lights and the lane departure warning system are listed as separate options. In either case, the description of the lane departure warning system makes no mention at all of including the hid headlights.
Currently, regardless of whether I choose the Luxury or the Ultra Luxury package, the lane departure warning system is listed as "unavailable". The reason for that is likely that, at the moment, the Lexus production lines are not set up to be producing any vehicles with the lane departure warning system. At any time during the year, the production lines are set up to build vehicles with predetermined combinations of packages and options, and, if you want a vehicle that is configured with other options, you need to wait and hope that, when Lexus changes its production lines, it will be producing vehicles with the option combination that you want. So, for example, it would appear that Lexus is currently building Ultra Luxury vehicles both with and without hid headlights, but they are building Luxury vehicles only with the hid option, and they are not, at the moment, building any ES vehicles, regardless of the package, with the lane departure warning system.

Arty, I am not sure there is a strong correlation to the packages/features you can select or build on the website and how those things are then actually printed up on the window sticker you see on the showroom. I think the website is as much to let you know what features/trims are available and relative pricing more than an actual order slip. Based on what I've seen on the windows of a lot of the cars in the showroom when I'm in for service I don't know if it's possible to do a one for one comparison between the two. You just need to know what features and options you want and then make sure those are listed on the sticker of the car you are contemplating buying. For example, I've seen some cars with every option you can get in the UL package and it still doesn't say it is the UL package on the sticker.

Actually I agree with you. The sticker may list all the same options of the UL or the Prem Package but may not indicate this is a package since it may be just listing each optional equipment individually. However if you want HIDs, I think it's outside either package. If you want HIDs, you'll need to see it as part of the optional equipment whether you have one of the upgrade packages.

On a layover, had some time to kill. Stopped by a Lexus Dealership and spoke with the Parts Dept Rep.
He pulled up his parts Diagram on the Lights.
He showed me the difference between HID and Halogen, especially how to tell which light application you have in the car.
Diagram below show the bulbs, but he said you don't have to see the bulbs, look at the cover that is over the low beam. That's how you'll tell. Sure enough, got home last night and there it was, Hid cover and curiosity got me to look at the bulb and its a HID Bulb.
He was certain that when you order UL Package, its built with the HID.
He said that any other Package has to be ordered specific.
When asked why is it not on the window sticker of my car, he said its "Lexus".
I never spoke with a parts rep who was so enthusiast about his Job.

Does that mean that, if you buy an UL vehicle that doesn't show the HID headlights as a separate line item for $515 that you got a free HID bonus over those who bought one with the HID headlights listed as a separate $515 line item? Or, if there is no separate line item for the HID headlights, is the UL package listed at $2960?
