Not really. The $2k goes towards first payment license fees etc.
The $2k does not come off the price of the car.
BTW I did lease. Fully loaded UL 300h MSRP $51128 for 36 Months 12k miles a year for $518 taxes included.. No money out of pocket because of the lease incentive.
Side note.. I only got a $1250 lease incentive

You still got a good deal, at 1500 below invoice on a 300h and a 1250 lease incentive. Not too bad. I only got a little under 2000 below MSRP on my 300h when it came out last year. Part of it was the color/option factor that the better half wanted, so our dealer had to do some swapping with the order going to Sac, and there went our hand. Was there lots of negotiating for you?
It's easier for me through email rather than face to face.

Agreed. One dealer kept bugging me by phone and I only wanted to deal via internet. Never got a straight price from them so I dealt with the ones that did.
