Default Where's the interest?

I thought the ES was one of Lexus' biggest sellers and especially now with the imminent arrival of the '13 Hybrid. However, this ES forum doesn't seem to be getting much traffic. What's going on?

Yes the ES is Lexus biggest seller after the RX. My guess is that the typical ES new car buyer doesn't frequent online forums too much. Seems like pre-owned buyers tend to be younger and more acitve on forums.

I'd say the IS and RX are the best/biggest sellers for Lexus.

People are giving the new ES respect on here finally, because honestly it looks better than the GS lol.

,
Yes the IS is a big seller too. Sales thru June, ES 18.265 and IS 14,191. EX is way above both.

Maybe you'd say it, but that doesn't make it so. As has been said, RX is the top selling Lexus with the ES being the second most popular model. The IS though is third.

There are many posts on this forum. There's been a lot back and forth on it for months. But how much can you talk about something that isn't even available yet? I think anything that is worth discussing, up to this point, has been discussed. After the launch later this summer the discussions will pick up considerably.

Well at least from my personal perspective. I live in a rather wealthy suburban area and I see very few ES' compared to the seemingly endless number of RX's and younger guys with IS's.

Another factor that makes ES sales even more interesting is that it is just one model. The IS, for example has 250, 350, ISF and convertible some with RWD and AWD variants.

ES sales will no doubt spike with the new gen, as will IS when its new gen comes out.

Actualy there was a lot of 'buzz' when the ES China pics were 'leaked' and it really peaked when the ES was finally unveiled in April along with Hybrid, most of those comments can be found in the ES 2007-2012 page(s) and also in the Car Chat forum and even the GS forum, there are some comments there as well. We cited articles from Auto mags and links to commercials, just a lot of 'stuff'. Expect the chatter/traffic to pic up considerably when the ES hits the showrooms in August and we're able to see both the gas/hybrid models in person and test drive them. It's coming, hang in there.

The "Interest" thread has been slow due to lack of info to be interested about. As for myself, I ordered a 2013 ES300h , with deposit, 06/21/12. It was a fully optioned model, with Silver and Light Gray interior. I received word yesterday that it is scheuled for production in August with early to mid September delivery. Then today, I attended the DFW "ES Inspitation Tour" and drove the 2013 ES350 & ES300h, along with display models. The drive was limited, in that it was on a large parking lot with traffic cone guidance. So, the accelleration and maneuvering was limited to about 35 mph. The price hasn't been disclosed, but they did have Total prices, with dealer prices due next week, after August 1st. But, the various package totals were listed. I didn't copy them, but as I recall, my order total for the full option was around $47,750. "Out the door" will certainly be impressive, for an ES!

I was invited to one of these event in So/Cal next weekend. But really though I'd get a chance to drive the car more than in the parking lot. This seem more like a marketing event from you description.
