Default ES only in US?

Hi All,

Is ES 350 only available in US? I checked Lexus Jp, Australia, etc...they don't have the ES line. Or is ES still considered Toyota in Japan like the previous RX known as Harrier.

Thanks,

ES is no longer sold in Japan. It is still available in certain other Asian markets. China has a new ES 240 which uses a 4 cylinder, a first for the ES. Due to taxes on bigger engines this was a good move by Lexus.

I see. Hmmm... Thinking of buying a new ES, but if it is stopped in Japan ... that sucks. Do you know any reason why Japan doesn't want to sell ES anymore?

The IS is now in the lineup. Before the IS was the Altezza there. Lexus is not going with the 2 car IS/ES approach in Japan. They prefer smaller cars and hybrids.

The ES has a long successful history here, the most successful entry level Japanese car. Its not going anywhere.

Smaller cars? How about GS and LS?

Well the GS is actually shorter than the ES, though it is more expensive. The LS is the flagship like the S/7 etc and sell in smaller quantities.
