Buying used ES - Does the seat comfort deteriorate over time?
I leased a 2010 ES for 2 years and seat comfort is one of my top reasons why I love the ES350.
Can anyone tell me why the ES seats are so comfortable?
I am now shopping for a 2007-08 ES, and I have noticed that some seats are more comfortable than others.
Am I just imagining this?
If you have owned your ES for many years, have you noticed a change in seat comfort?
I am guessing that the seat condition is probably due to the weight of the previous owner?
A lighter person will make the seat last longer?
Has anyone had their seat replaced and noticed a big difference?
Is there any other car that you know of that has even more comfortable seats?

They're very well made.
I have owned my car for just over 9 years replacing the seat cushions on the drivers side in November.
I would assume weight has a lot to do with the longevity, I weigh about 155lbs, my car is a 2008 w/44k miles.
It's a noticeable difference, really depends on the current shape of your seats though I suppose.

I've had mine for 5 years and the seat is just as comfortable as the first day. I'm the only owner. 2012 ES 350 currently has 60K miles on it. I recall my dad's 94 ES 350 also had comfortable seats and he drove that for 15 years or more.

How did you notice that the seat was worn out?
How much did it cost?
Is there a seat in another car that was more comfortable?
I test drove 2 different ES350s in the last week, both had about 100k miles on them.
one was a 2007 which I thought the seats were a little hard and the other a 2008 were perfect.

I read that semi analine leather make the leather feel better to the touch, because it is more natural. and less processed.
So psychologically it may feel more comfortable even if nothing has changed.
Does that about sum it up?
Does the es use semi analine leather?

The cushions were $500+ tax, the labor was quoted at $350 but everything went to hell in a bucket at the dealership and they ended up not charging the labor.
I weigh about 155lbs, have owned the car since October 31st, 2007 (original owner) and currently have just over 44k miles. I am the only driver besides my wife (105lbs) who rarely drives it.
I had a double lamenectomy with fusion a couple of years ago and ever since have struggled mightily with chairs, seats, beds, etc., this was a definite improvement and almost necessary for me since I plan on keeping the car a few more years after spending so much on my recent A/V upgrades.
Next up up is replacing the dash since my dash apparently doesn't have the "sticky/melting" issue so it's not covered, but there is something seriously wrong as it is turning white/faded in several areas.

The seat bottoms are not as comfortable as my other cars. I got these and they made a huge difference:

We've had 4 ES models including 2 ES350s..... Our current model has 125k miles on it and although I'm 250lbs, I don't think it's broken down at all and is still comfortable for 6 hours drives.
By comparison, I just had the seat bottom rebuilt in my C5 Corvette and notice a remarkable difference - -- an inexpensive restoration in my view. The re-dyed the leather and replaced the power controls on the door side of the seat.
My point is that even if you find the perfect car with a worn seat- the cushion can be redone and new leather sewn in -- probably for a few hundred bucks and you're good for another 15 years.
