Engine Start Button
My engine start button on the dash has become scratched and worn by the previous owner. To replace it, do I have to change the entire assembly or is there a new cover available? Functionally it is fine, but it is unsightly while the rest of the interior looks almost new. Also, I have found a replacement video and instructions for the IS model, but not the 5th Gen ES. Any help?
Many thanks!

Unfortunately you're probably going to have to buy the whole assembly. I've never seen any kinda of cover or sticker for it. My button has a big scratch on it so I've definitely looked and thoughs push buttons aren't cheap either.

Ha! Forgot the link. Here it is:https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...rt-button.html
It's to a new cover that I think not a lot of folks would like but it shows that you can just replace the button. There's probably an oem one out there somewhere.

Thanks for suggestions. I've posted a couple of photos for discussion around the vinyl cover idea. As clean as my ES is otherwise, it's strange that the one thing that's worn is it's start button. ??? I haven't seen this problem widespread in the forum.
I think I understand that the suggestion is perhaps get a design or print shop to make something to cover the button. If you look at the button with no light, you can see the defects well and I wouldn't mind covering it up with a nice decal. But the light that shines behind the words is a feature that some owners might appreciate. Does anyone know if the entire button cover can be removed, keeping the green backlight, then a design company could make a decal cover with the backlit words still visible?
