Extended Warranty (or Mechanical Breakdown Insurance) after 8 years
Hi,
I would like to know if there are ways to get extended warranty or mechanical breakdown insurance for my 2007 lexus.
It initially came with 4 year factory warranty, then i bought a platinum coverage for additional 4 years and is about to end in a month. But on talking to my dealer, i came to know that the warranty cannot be anymore extended. But i have only 44k on my car, and would appreciate if there are ways I could add some kinda warranty on it as am not planning to sell it any sooner.
Please let know of any alternatives to get the EW/MBI
Thanks

Unfortunately thats all that they will cover. Without me even asking, I know there is a high probability of you spending more money on the extended warranty than the cost of any warranty repairs you have had done. This is especially true because you do not drive the car that often.
Quite frankly, I'd just save the money you would spend on an extended warranty and use it for anything that would break. Other than waterpumps (issue is widespread amongst many automotive manufacturers) I don't really see anything go wrong consistently in the ES. As long as you've had all the tsibs and recalls done you should be fine.
Things like suspension (shock replacement), nav issues (touch screen no longer functioning), axle boots, ignition coils can all be done by a trusted tech for pretty cheap or solutions can be found on Club Lexus.

I have had good luck with a company called Simplicity EFG
my plan cost me 2400 i think.
i'm paying like 104 a month for it.
so far the repairs over the last 2 years that it needed would have cost me around 3000 at the dealership but it only cost me about 400 in deductables.
