Recommended brand of brake fluid?

2009 ES350

Is there a recommended brand of brake fluid? Also how do I know if my car has dot-3 or dot-4?

The cap where you put the break fluid tells you what type. 99% chance it says DOT-3

Last time I did the flush on one of my cars, I used synthetic fluid, only a few $$ more than regular...
