How big of a discount on an '11 ES 350?
Looking around the internet, it seems between Lexus loyalty cash ($1,000) and Lexus incentive ($750), along with big dealer discounts given the new model and soon to be redesign coming out, that one might get some serious discounts. The base models in my area with the fewest options have MSRP of $39,700. Just how much of a discount can I get on one of these before tax and tags? Any shot of $5,000 or more off?

Bought mine today. 2011 model, MSRP of $43,503. Net of $40,000. Trade in of $22,000 for 2007 Ultra version with 55,000 miles, rated clean. Needs tires, has scratches, rims have curb rash, never smoked in, interior clean.
$18,000 difference plus tax of $1,080and tags of $173.95. New one is Matador Red / Tan interior. Old one is Dark Blue with Tan interior
Differences between them: more bling in the interior, nice exterior styling upgrades. Better warranty than 2007 models. New one has the spoiler and bodyside molding plus XM radio. But no ML sound system, although the Navigation / Premium Sound system did not sound bad.
Looking forward to it

Looked at the LaCrosse but seems it was a bloated ES350 on the outside although it did have some nice features like standard remote start, power sunroof shade, all wheel drive. My daughter's boyfriend bought a new 2011. Rode nice and quiet, good power. Had an Infiniti G35 for a rental, another nice car but tight seating. Deal was at Lexus this time especially with loyalty rebate and heres a funny story. The salesman told us that the difference was going to be $24,000 plus my car, which he valued at $17,000 trade in. I got up and said we were returning to the Allentown, PA Lexus dealer who gave us the $18,000 plus my car deal for the same car down to color and MSRP. They came back and matched the price. But to come up with a robbery like this, a $6,000 difference in price. Talk about negotiation room.

The differences right know, from the test ride, was that the new car had more chrome trim on the interior. The navigation screen was more up to date, seats same, ride was quieter, premium sound system was good versus the Mark Levinson in my 2007. Same power, transmission seemed to transition shift with a little more lag. Outside, I liked the upgrades with the trim and turn signal mirrors. Like the longer standard warranty. Same color interior so it seems like, did we get a new car? Is there a Lexus / Toyota remote start option that the dealer or another source can install?

Drove the car about 30 miles. Of course, drove smoother than my '07 Ultra with 54,900 miles. Saw that the passenger seat has no memory option. Love the XM radio built in, power window switches seem lighter / cheaper. Like the way the center console armrest opens up. Washed and detailed my '07 prior to the dealer used car appraisal and before I traded in. Just something I do. The salesman put their used car sticker on it and put in the used car row. Will check to see how much they are selling it for since they gave me $22,000 trade in value for it.

I thought the 2010 is a little quieter too. Also seems more solid on rough pavement. Just a seat of the pants observation only, but the 2007 felt a little quicker and more responsive. It might be the transmission characteristics that you mentioned as well as different tires. Overall I like the changes/updates that were made. The LaCrosse was on our list too but for a number of reasons we didn't get one.

It is not. I thought it was a 36 month / 36,000 mile on the '07 but it was the same as the 2011: 48 months / 50,000 miles basic. Power train is 72 months / 70,000 miles. I opted for the Platinum Extended Warranty to move it up to 72 months / 70,000 miles /$0 deductible for bumper to bumper warranty for an additional $735+ tax when we signed off on the car yesterday afternoon. MSRP for this option was $1,400. Leveraged the $735 amount from competitor pricing listed in this forum. Used it on my '07 to fix the passenger side window when it came off it's track. Without it, would have been a $700 bill.

I think you can do better then 5k depending on your area . You need to goto a high volume dealer. This is the best time to buy a car ESP ones with options as they don't sell as fast as the cheaper models. We got about 4-5k off when I bought at in 2010 and it was in spring when they don't give as good of deals as now. I went to a high volume dealer and you gotta be ready to play hardball and be patient. Btw 2012 isn't changing anything but It looks like adding a special edition with camel colored seats and liquid graphite wheels.

Btw were I live in fl I started on th west coast (were I live) and they wouldn't take off much. When i goto the high volume guys in the Miami area they already start lower then the best deal on this coast. I have done this with my Lexus and hondas and
Always works out better. When the accord was changing to the new model year in 08 I got a fully loaded model with leather, navi everything for the price of a base model. So 29k car for 21500. It all depends on how bad they need to move it and if they got alot of cars ( this dealer had a whole huge 3rd floor full , like prob 500 of em) they will move to get cash. I did the same thing with my Honda truck. Lexus was a little harder to get down but it can be done.
