Can I take my 2007 ES 350 to a Toyota dealer?
I live 5 miles from a Toyota dealer and 40 miles from a Lexus dealer. Can I get my oil changes at Toyota dealer. What is the catch?

Yes you can. Toyota=Lexus, Lexus=Toyota and don't let any dealer, either Lexus or Toyota tell you differently. The Lexus dealer will try to encourage your business as he can charge higher rates for the same service performed by the Toyota dealer...just a big ripoff, especially for the Es which is esentially a Camry. How I hate this manipulation of paying customers.

I caught my Toyota shop trying to charge me Lexus list price once. (I had the MSRP price on the same part from Lexus and Toyota, $100.00 difference)
After I mentioned to the service manager that I told the service writer to use the identical Toyota part "that if I wanted to pay the Lexus price I'd go the the Lexus dealer"...the price dropped to the Toyota level. You gotta watch'em!
*** Not all parts exchange between Lexus and Toyota.

Yes
This is my 5th Lexus. I live 110 miles from my dealer. I've always taken my cars to Toyota for oil changes. They use the same filters and oil. There is no reason they shouldn't change you oil. My Toyota dealer makes me make an appt. and won't do the 30 minute oil change promise with the Lexus. The 30 minute deal is if they don't get it done in 30 minutes, the next one is free, but who cares.

depends on the area you live. Yes I believe anyone can change your oil, heck why go to a ford dealer? It is a respect thing, lexus dealers do not , but sometimes do service toyota, at toyota menu pricing i might add.as for an es is basically a camry, then why buy an es? Look ,with consolidated histories we know where you go for service. It is part of building a relationship with the people you do business with. If you do not trust your dealership go elsewhere, why continue to buy there product. However I know for a fact loyality is rewarded, things tend to get covered by warranty when they should not be.
