Brake Squeaking
So my newly accquired 93 ES300 squeaking front brake. I bought some stuff from autopart (blue, sticky) and put them on the pad backing. Open them up last night and found one side had two V springs, the other side had none. Can be the missing V-spings cause the squeaking? Can anyone had an exploded picture of how these springs go on and can I get just the springs?

Allrighty... I have a '93 also, so We're comming from the same place.
Now then, FYI I DID NOT take the wheels off to look, so maybe I just didn't get a good angle, but I saw no spring of any type on the brakes. (nor have I ever on disk brakes)
That being said, I don't have a clue about any springs, However I bet all of your squealing is comming from one place. There still isn't enough goo between the piston, the spacer and the pad.
BTW I just leave the squalers off when I change pads; that makes it much easier to deal with LoL!

Call me crazy, but here is simple reasoning that gives NO ONE an excuse to not do it anyways...
It takes one glance while checking your tire pressure to see how the pads are doing, both front and rear. Tire pressure should be checked regularly as in Bi-Weekly.

The little prongs fit into holes in the pads. They are suppose to stop noise (don't ask me how) and the top one points down and bottom one points up. I would guess the dealer has them, call Carson and ask Gordon.

The prongs keep the shims from sliding around too much.
Honestly... I don't even put the squeaky warning squeelers back on when I change the pads.
Simple fact is it takes once glance while you check tire pressures which should be done weekly, or bi-weekly if you're **** like myself.
Obviously you know the pad isn't gone, as you applied more goop in between the pad and shim and piston and all that good stuff.
