'94 Lexus ES300: OBD-I or -II?
Hi All,
For some reason I thought all vehicles prior to 1996 are OBD-I compliant, but I've read that some '94 and '95 models are OBD-II compliant?
I'm trying to locate a code scanner to diagnose a current flashing check engine light.
Help, please!

If you have a smartphone you can pick up a Bluetooth ELM327 adapter online. They are around $ 10 and they are a great.tool for monitoring any variable on your car, reading and clearing codes, data logging, etc. I run a program called torque, it's free but the paid version is $5 and well worth the money.

The pre-'01 cars are not 100% OBD-II - they are a hybrid. My mechanic had to connect a special adapter with two plugs to his OBD-II reader to get it to read anything. My '02 is fully OBD-II compliant.
