What is this plastic box/cover called ? Can it be ordered separately from the wiring harness? It seems to hold up the wiring harness.
I have a 2002 es300 and this box/cover is completely disintegrated - gone..

The only way to get that new is to buy the entire engine harness. You can try getting one from a salvage yard but they are almost always broken in the same way.

I had the same question a few years ago when I started working on my sister's camry. The dealership told me the same story, it's not available separately but only as part of the engine harness.

I've just used some plastic wire loom and a bunch of electrical tape to cover up the exposed wires that the box was covering.

I've since done this to my sister's and my old 99 Camry. The plastic box at sits on top of the rear valve cover has the same problem I discovered that the bottom was disintegrating the same way. I had to cover it with loom and electrical tape.

Your best bet is to just cover it up like I did.

That seems like a good solution. Quick,easy, and cheap. You could probably add some of that heat insulating tubing underneath the loom if that is part of the function of the original part.

I took your advice, wrapped the wires with electrical tape and the wire loom. Easy fix.

As long as wiring is not damaged I'd wrap it with electrical tape and bolt it back on. Mine was disintegrated as well. Stupid Toyota engineers running a PLASTIC wire harness holder on top of HOT engine-just idiotic.
