2000 ES300 What to look for?
My father in law is looking to pick up a 2000 ES300. We are going to look at it tomorrow. It has 75k miles and they are looking around 6500 bucks for it. I haven't seen it yet but I'm being told it is immaculate. Black with black leather interior and gold badges from what I'm told. I told him to see if they will do the timing belt and water pump.
Anyway, what are common issues with these vehicles? Things to look for? Thanks in advance!

These cars don't usually have any big issues, especially after 15 years after being made.
although the 60-80k mile mark is where car's issues begin to show.
Keep an eye out on electrical especially.
that's what I was told when buying my 96' Es300.
Best of luck to your father in law with this car!
I know I love my lexus for the short time i've owned one, and will continue to own one after this one is far gone.
of course, if you have any questions this is the best place to get a answer!

Lead Lap
oil sludge build up in the engine caused by a failure to regularly change the oil.
timing belt - due at 100km's or 5 years.
rear cam seal leaking oil on engine block - means full cambelt / water pump job.
VVTi cam solenoids - these can fail.
at this age radiator top tank may be ready to pop / showing lines / cracks.
water build up in the rear arches, in the boot. (trapped water).
rear suspension bushes - creaking noise - very common.
