Default New guy with slight mods!

Hi guys/girls

I just recently picked up a 92 lexus es300. It is a 5spd manual! Previous owner lowered the car. Said he had lowered it on springs. But right now it's sitting on 17 inch mustang gt wheels. Which I plan on taking them off asap. Right now I am rubbing. And according to tire rack I do have the right tire size 215 50 17. Do I need to run spacers? They are 17x8. The rear fenders seems to be rolled as they don't rub. I hear all the rubbing in the front. Any help would be appreciated!

Looks good, I actually like those rims, but the rubbing would **** me off... Can't help regarding your need for spacers or not...

Rare to find a 5spd, not many of them around!

We got the same color ES 5 speed but I have IS300 wheels on mine. I used a 10mm hub centric spacers on the rear with longer studs. A 3mm spacer up front may help and bend the tab that hangs down on the front struts if you have serviceable struts. Or suggest getting a lower offset wheels like +20 or +30 to keep it from rubbing on turns. What springs are you running?

It's starting to get to me. Lol but it's still driveable. I actually found out why I was rubbing. I was staring at the car and saw that the tires are different sizes. im 215 50 17 in the front but in the rear where I don't rub I am 215 45 17. So i ordered the new tires since it needs new tires any way. bought some nankang tires. I have had them before on a v6 6spd accord before so they should be ok on this as well.

@gray_es300 thanks man! it definitely is, I will take more pictures when I can actually detail it! right now we are about to get 8-12 inches of snow in my area. Can't wait for the spring!

@gerson I haven't had the chance to lift the car up in the air yet and take a wheel off and see what exactly it is. But the previous owner said it was lowered on springs. don't know what springs, but I believe it was on stock struts so I might see about switching to coilovers. I see there isn't many options for us. But I will look around.

Also side note.... what are your thoughts on the Mustang gt wheels? I kinda like them... but I kinda hate them... but it also makes the car a little. I get mixed reviews lol

It doesn't look bad in my opinion, it's different. I have Tein S.tech springs from the 99-03 Solara but not yet installed. I'm debating on switching for Tanabe springs from the 97 ES or full coilovers from D2, BC racing, or Ksport with low offset wheels.

I would rather just do coilovers that way I can adjust ride height. Do you have any sites that you would recommend for parts/accessories for the es300? Looks like I could use camry and or solara suspension parts?

Full coilover set can be purchased from ebay for under $1k 92-01 Camry, 99-02 Solara parts will fit except some front strut braces. Ultra Racing strut brace from a 97 Camry fits the best.

Looks awesome as-is, even with the wheels. Too bad you can't make them work.

Actually got them to work. I bought two new front tires. 215 45 17. No rubbing what's so ever. Although I still haven't had the time to check under neath and see what suspension I might have. I do have time tomorrow since I'm off. Hopefully the weather is nice to me and allows me to work on her and clean her as well. And take more pics for everyone. I did find some new wheels tho I'm thinking about running for the summer. Use these for the winter since they are ford wheels I don't care about them as much lol

Are those fog light oem? The one I'm about to get has em too does anyone know what bulb that is will want to put 3k hids in them and is that the only fog light option? Or is there some that require you too cut the bumper like some oem foglights do? Also can you have both high and low beems on at the same time like integra's
