Sometime it's the simplest of things..
So I was driving on the highway and started hearing this 'helicopter in the distance' noise. Pinpointed the noise to the left front, but couldn't figure out what it was. It was speed dependent and sounded like a physical interference. Noticed that it only appeared while coasting, and disappeared under load in gear (accelerating). Triple checked all my linkages behind the wheel and couldn't find anything obvious. Had to make a 15 mile trip on the highway, while thinking that my transmission was kaput. Got home and was about to jack the car up in the air, when I saw this.... 
Three out of five were loose! I switched over to my winter wheels at the end of October, so that's over two weeks ago. They say you should retighten your lug nuts after 100 miles, and I always ignored that. Well, not anymore.
