I honestly think a 3ES is a better car than the 05ish Accord. They're both extremely reliable, but the Lexus has the edge on longevity. Most components tend to last twice the average life expectancy. Struts last well over 200k(if I had known where my rattle was coming from, I would have kept my original suspension), the exhausts systems don't rust out, the underbelly is better protected against the elements, there is less surface rust on suspension parts, etc.

A 4th gen ES is built like a tank, it is arguably the best ES generation. Except for this latest generation that came out recently. Interior quality is like no other in it's class. The 4ES is really a mini-LS.

Good luck with your search, i just put a deposit down on a 2004 4runner sport with 81k miles. Hopefully i don't have the head gasket problems some are known to have. Didn't trade in the ES300 yet, might just try to sell it on craigslist or something.

You should be fine. My uncle has an 04' 4Runner with nearly 160k miles now, original owners. Haven't done anything to it except engine oil changes, and brakes. Not even a transmission oil change or anything (I'm not bragging about this part, I've been telling him to change it). Still shifts like brand new, just drove it the other day!

+1 on the 4ES. Its a really well built car.

Go for the face lifted 2005-06 models with the more powerful 3MZ-FE engine.

And even if you do downgrade to a Honda, don't get the 4 cylinder. You'll miss the power, smoothness, and quietness of the V6 that your Lexus offered.

You'll have to go and check out a few cars before settling on one. Then you'll get a better picture of the condition and prices of cars out there, and make the right choice at a reasonable price.

Well we couldn't find anything. I woke up today I guess they bought me a car hoping for a es300 or above even a accord will do. I guess I got a es300 though it's a 95-96' which is alright I'm more of the 00-01' fan. Hmmm

I'm going to beat her a#$ now.

The 95-96' years are still nice cars. You should supercharge that puppy!

Any pics? Miles?

Wasn't really free lol, they took my money I got from the crash and just went and just bought me a car. Do you know if the 00" foglight bulb sizes are the same as the 2nd Gen? I got a HID Kit still in my old car that I can ****** out.

Be advise the picture makes the car look better.

Year: 1994
Mileage: 20X,XXX

Very dirty, almost all the fuse does not work, the odometer lights doesn't work, CEL is on.

This car going to need a good washing and fixing. =\

Give me some good cheap products to use on this car!
1) Wax and Washing
2) Leather Cleaning
3) Interior Cleaning
4) Wheels Cleaning
5) Headlight cleaner

thanks!

I'm not entirely sure, but I think my dad got it for 700-800.

A running car for $800, why not. As long as it gets you from point A to point B, safely, reliably, and comfortably. I'm sure a few weekends cleaning, and the car wont be looking half bad..get rid of the seatcovers though haha. On a side note, after weeks of looking, i just put a deposit on this ( http://www.mastermotorsofbuffalo.com...PrefID=0&.aspx ) to replace the es300. BTW is there anyway you could sway the wheels/tires from your totalled es300 to this older one? It would make a big difference.
