Is a K&N air filter worth the $$?
Greetings. I'm new to the forum here and just bought a pampered '05 ES330. I am going to change the fluids and filters and am wondering if it is worth the investment in a K&N air filter. Is there anything to be gained mileage or performance-wise? The convenience of being able to wash and re-oil the K&N is not a big plus for me.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I've had them before on other vehicles. Snake oil. I couldn't tell any difference.
Cleaning and re-oiling is a giant PITA too. Much easier to just drop a new paper one every year.

FWIW Personally I just go with the NAPA Gold. I bought my 98 ES300 used and it had a K&N in it. The only cool thing it did was make a loud thud in the dumpster I threw it in. K&N sucks ***... absolute crap. The only thing they are good in are dirt bikes.

stick with the Toyota (Nippon Denso) parts that made your car so refined and reliable in the first place.
It always amazes me that people will take a car that is built with the best parts in the world (Nippon Denso + Aisin), and immediately try and "fix it up" with aftermarket crap parts, it boggles the mind!
