Coolant Loss
2005 ES 330 just purchased with 84000 miles. Found about a tablespoon of coolant on driveway. Checking it out, coolant reservoir is full, took off cap, full. went under car don;t see any leaks, only avery slight dried coolant on front of oil pan, which my guess would be from the water pump. I havent found any more on the driveway for the past week, only this one time. Any thoughts:/

I would wait and see if there are any other coolant spots. Try placing a large piece of cardboard under the engine after the engine is hot and check it the next morning for spots. You could also pressure test the cooling system and see if there are any leaks.

my 96 es was just losing the tank/hour. coming all out from the water pump. I had to get it replaced. And went ahead and got my timing belt replaced too (jobs really fall hand in hand). I would wait til it gets bad really...as you know its a costly job. Mine cost $600 to repair, and thats with a less congested engine bay.

I would also check the radiator itself. I believe you should have both a radiator cap, and an overflow bottle on this car. If you are seeing drips, it's got to be getting low. Assuming you don't have a crack in the radiator itself, and the hoses are good, I'd guess it's coming out of the weep hole in the water pump. This means it's on its way out. hzt30 has got the right idea. I'd put a sheet of cardboard under it and try to isolate where the drip is coming from. If it's coming from behind the plastic cover behind your belts, thats a water pump. Now if you are trying to find anything positive out of this, your timing belt is due at 90k miles, and they have to take it off to replace the pump, so you might as well kill 2 birds with one stone.

Wife came home tonight and I checked it. I found 1 drop on top of coolant overflow tank, tank is just over the full mark. I don't think it came from there, but will just keep monitoring it.
