I ripped off my 02 Sensor wire :(
hello y'all, '97 ES300
While doing my valve cover gaskets, I accidentally ripped off B1S1 02 sensor wire from the
Main wiring harness side...
Didn't realize how rotted and brittle the wires to the harness were...
I ended up just cutting off the wiring harness from the 02 sensor and pig tailing
it temporary, though I've heard nasty unforgiving stories about splicing 02 sensor wires.
Anyway, what would be the best approach to fix this? Again, I heard stories of splicing/soldering
not working. I really don't know what to do besides that. I was considering going to the junkyard
and cutting off another wiring harness and soldering it on. I have a new 02 sensor coming
in the mail soon and would hate to cut off the wiring harness.
Oh btw, I have a California emissions car, Air/fuel sensors.

I'll try to help you. I know they changed the sensors that each bank referred to sometime around the mid-model refresh for the 3ES. Can you post a picture of the sensor and snapped wire; I'm not sure exactly what we're talking about here.

The air/fuel ratio sensor right next to the firewall; I broke the connector harness off the engine harness.... I ended up going to the junkyard today to grab a new connector harness from an 1997
avalon but for some reason, the avalon's connector harness doesn't fit my new Air/fuel ratio sensor (234-9009)... I haven't checked camrys yet...
Once I find the correct fitting connector harness, i'm going to crimp the new one on.
