2 drain holes; one (?) fill hole
I was changing the AT fluid on a '99 ES 300 and noticed 2 drain holes for the transmission. One on the transmission pan and another on the "differential" beside it. I can't find the fill hole for the differential. Does it have one? Or do I simply fill it while filling the transmission through the tranmission dip stick hole?

OMG..... I hope you found the fill hole for the differential, it's on the side and you'll need a hand pump to fill that up. sorry if reply too late....haven't been on this board for a while

Jason,
I'm glad you were too late. With bad info like that, you could have really caused me a lot of trouble.
It's a shared differential/transmission set-up.

gebo : I asked the same questions like 6 months ago because it seemed weird to have seperate drains but (1) fill hole. So I baught (2) Lexus cd's from ebay. They are both different but have same info.
If you need a copy for like $5 plus shipping let me know.

It is in theory but the complete CD would crash my machine at home or work. To big.
So to help my fellow lexus friends I put the diff oil PDF online on my server. You need some mech skills so it is not dummy proof. It gies you some nice FYI info so take it as you will.
Shhh, the password word is...http://home.attbi.com/~mburnickas//T...RVICING_AT.PDF
Again I paid about $65 for both cd which are the same but a little difference. If you or anyone needs a copy I will burn on for like $10 with shipping.
***Any other questions let me know.
It is like the collant lexus want $200 for a drain and flush. They are smoking some good stuff and I wish they would pass some this way!
The only job(s) I will NOT do is a timing belt, spark plugs, water pump, hoses, and therostat. The rest is easy.
