Hesitaion problem fixed
I noticed that while driving the 2000 ES300 the past week that the engine would really hesitate and bog down when I gave it a good amount of gas when it was at a stop/ at idle. It was really noticeable. Even when under full throttle, the power delivery would be non linear and quite rough.
However, I took out the mass air flow sensor and found that it was very dirty so the sensor probably wasn't getting good readings on the amount of air entering the engine. I cleaned the sensor and the two metal wires inside black housing with 2-propanol and a q-tip and the car now runs like new. When I step on the gas there is no sign of hesitation and the power delivery is very smooth all the way up.
Just letting letting fellow ES300 owners know of this in case anyone is experiencing similar problems. This forum has been helpful to me and I thought I would share.
