2005 ES 330 Compressor Quit
Hey guys,
I have an 05 ES330 and my compressor quit on me, or so I've been told.
There's a high pitched whirring sound coming from my engine compartment.
With a stethoscope we determined it was coming from the compressor.
My A/C actually still seems to be working OK. though it hasn't been over 80 degrees in a while so I'm not sure how it works on a 90+ summer day.
The problem I'm having is with the alternator.
City traffic and drive through lines seem to kill the car.
Highway traffic is fine though.
So with the compressor and alternator being on the same drive belt, i was wondering if maybe the compressor pulley could be locking up and slowing down the alternator causing it to not charge the system correctly.
If anyone could shed some light on my situation I'd greatly appreciate it!
