Any info on Cd-Changer install?
Hello all club folks.
I recently bought a 95 ES-300 and absolutely love the car. I'm in the process of trying to figure out how to go about instlalling a cd changer since the car doesn't have one. so far here's what i figured out.
1. since my stock deck has a cd button it should be able to control the changer.
2. i found 2 cables with a square plug and a rectangular plug in the driver side of the trunk right next to the fuel opener plug.
3. I know someone who wants to sell a cd changer from a 93 ES-300.
So here's my questions.
1. will this changer work?
2. are the cables i see the right cables?
3. where do i bolt the changer?
Thanks all you guys and have fun with your cars!!

I did the exact same thing. 1. Any 92-96 stock six-disc changer will work. 2. The two plugs on the drivers side of the trunk are used. 3. Hopefully the changer you buy will come with the bracket. There are two places where the bracket mounts to the car. One is on the floor right in front of the changer (closest to back of car). You will probably have to go to the hardware store and buy the bolt. It was a 12mm, but I don't remember the thread pitch, just buy a few sizes and try them out. The other mount is on the wall. The bracket should have a bolt welded to it on the left side. Just buy the nut to fit it and you are set.
You will have to cut a small slit in the trunk carpet on the wall to slide the bracket and wires through. I had to cut the floor carpet a little bit too. If you look around, you can find the factory carpet that covers the changer itself. I just cut my own piece of carpet to fit.
When you get the changer and move the trunk carpet out of the way it will all be obvious. Good luck,

PS. How much do they want for the changer?

this is just a suggestion but i found this site that sells used lexus and toyota parts and I'm pretty sure they will have a couple cd changers that will fit your cars. The site is called "TAP Recycling" im not sure what exactly the address is so u need to go to google.com and type that in the search box and it should be the first or second result that comes up. I have used this site more than once and have saved several hundred dollars but I'm not sure what their cd changers go for.....good luck.
