Noo! My Leather scraped!
Hello,
About 4 days ago my friend was getting into my 2002 ES300 and something must have caught and scraped the side of the seat. The scrape is in 3 pieces and spans about 7 inches. It's on the passenger's seat on the right side near where the right side of the lower back sits. I am posting to try to see if anyone knows how to fix it. I've heard that liquid leather doesn't work, but I found this on the internet.
http://www.leatherrepairkits.com/lexus.htm
It supposedly has the exact leather colors that our cars have. Only thing is, my car has Ivory interior, but there are 3 different Ivory colors and range from 1992-98. Could anyone tell me if they think this will work and what color ivory they use in the 2002 ES. Please help, I'm desperate.
Thanks,
Shawn

Edit: couldn't put pictures in window, so put them on website

OUCH!
That blows...before you try the home leather repair kit, try the dealer, they will most likely have someon who does this professionally. Why would you want to take the chance and make it worse.

Ahh well Just got back from JM Lexus dealership. They have a specialist that comes and i was told it would cost about $150 to repair. Said he will sand off all the loose particles and dye what's left the color of my interior. Hope it looks good when he's finished. Good news is I'm going to make the friend that did it pay for it.

Should be fixable
Looking at the pics of your seat bolster, it looks like the scratches are light enough to not worry about the leather actually tearing, and a professional should be able to sand them out and spot-dye them, and make it look new.
