1997 ES300 Brake System Warning Light
Recently I noticed that while driving the car, 97 ES300, the Brake System Warning Light came on temporarily and went off and attributed it to low brake fluid.
I just just finished replacing the valve cover gaskets and after putting everything back together, I missed reinstalling the vacuum hose from the throttle body to the master cylinder.
After starting the car, I noticed the hissing air flow and found that I had missed the vacuum hose.
I then reinstalled the hose and started the car and now notice that the Brake System Warning Light is on and doesn't go away.
I've topped up the Brake fluid and checked that the Parking Brake is released.
What causes the Brake System Warning Light to stay on? Anything else besides low brake fluid and Parking Brakes on?

How much do your pads have left on them? I checked my front pads after having this same issue and found that they were quite worn. Not worn enough to really feel too different or for the warning metal piece to give you that rotor squeal but enough to light the lamp. There is a sensor that monitors how thin the pad is getting and prompts the brake warning light to remain lit until the pads are replaced with fresh ones.
Just a thought I'm sure you've probably looked already.
