Power steering hose diagram
I've got another power steering fluid leak. The first one was the pressure hose for the hydraulic cooling fan which i replaced. The leak stopped for a couple of months. Recently the tell tale smell of burning power steering oil and smoke from behind the engine has told me something else is leaking. The power steering pump is completely dry so I don't believe it is that. Maybe its the return line for the rack, but I can't see it and have no idea how it runs around the engine. To make it more confusing, it only seems to leak when I run the car hard. If I obey the speed limit and don't stomp down on the throttle for quick acceration it won't leak. HMMM! Any of you long time Lexus Guy's have any ideas? A diagram of all the hoses coming from the power steering pump would appreciated. Thanks for any help.

i had to get that hose/pipe replaced. i have one last leak. i need a new O ring cuz mine is threaded from the power steering pump to the rack. that might be the same case as yours. i would say just jack up the car remove the right front tire take a look and see if the leak is coming from the hose it might be loose or something. don't know that much about cars or their terms but i'm more or less in the same boat as you. when i use more force my leak is greater, but i have a leak regardless.
