Valve adjustment
I have a '92 ES300 with 171,000 miles. A while back, I inquire my dealer about the valve adjustment service as indicated in the owner's manual. I was told by the service adviser that I do not need them as long as the car doesn't have any funny valve train noises. Is this correct? I don't really want to pay for a valve job if I can do some preventive maintenance first.

Have them run further diagnosis on you car and maybe they can give you a better answer rather then brushing you off with an "ah don’t worry about it," answer. I just when in for a major tune up and it was not needed, I have 120,000.
