04 ES330 gas type and octane booster
does anyone know whether an 04 ES330 can run on 87 regular gas? The manual says its ok but most people said no. Also, can I put regular 87 gas and an octane booster to make this work?
I know most of the over-the-counter products do not work. Anyone has experience with one that does work? THX

From what I understand (check your owners manual for confirmation), octane boosts are a big NO NO! I'm not sure of the reason, but this was discussed in another Forum on here. Do a search for more details.
Using a higher octane gasoline will get you better engine performance. You can get away with mid-grade. Others on here will have different opinions, but I usually put in super grade, as mine is not a daily driver.
BTW, welcome to CL!

In my own opinion, it won't kill you nor your engine. I don't recommend it though, cheap gas can often be bad for injectors and yes there will be a performance loss. If it isn't worth the extra $.20 a gallon to sacrifice those things, then go ahead. Otherwise, bite the bullet and press the 93 button.
Also, what MyfirstES said about octane boosters, just stay away from them.

i drive my 03 Es300 everyday (60 miles / day), I tried from 87-89-91 gas, from Shell, Chevron, even Arco (91 only) and the MPG still really really close, not that much difference (around 23-24mpg) and I feel the same power even though I'm using different brand or octane. Yes, maybe 91 is better for a long run, but it's totally up to you. I tried to use 91 full tank for about a month and got the same mpg / power w/ 87 gas.
