The only time my fans run are when the A/C is turned on... I can run 70 miles in 90 degrees and they never come on...unles the A/C is on. Can someone help with what to check???????

As long as your temp gauge in your car is normal then you shouldn't need to worry. If your temp gauge starts to go above the 1/2 way mark and you don't hear the fans turn on then you'll need to have them checked out.

Well...that brings up another thing... while the temp gauge does not fluctuate there is a rubber burning smell and sometimes little smoke coming from engine area. I have not been able to identify exactly where smoke is coming from and I'm wondering if it is from the bottom radiator hose getting too hot.....

My advice is on the next hot summer day leave your car running with the hood down until you see some smoke. Once you see it see if you can see where its coming from starting from underneath the car i.e. before you open the hood.

The other option is to wait until you see the smoke again during your normal driving rituals.
