I'm assuming the only component to wire on the radar is a power source. If so off the top of my head you have 2 choices: 1) connect it to a toggle switch so you can turn it on and off as you like or 2) connect it to a power source that is activated by the ignition.
Either or is relatively easy to do. The easiest way to go about finding a power source via ignition is just put your key in the ignition turn it to the "ON" position and use a light tester to check if the light tester comes on. If it does then take the key out and test the same wire if the power still goes on then its a continuous power source, if not then its a power source via ignition.
I would suggest doing it toggle switch that is connected to power source via ignition so in case if you get stopped and the radar is going off you can turn it off via the toggle switch, unless there is an easily reachable power switch on the radar itself then no need for the toggle switch.
