ES300 1993 Wiring connections for hitch
Hated to do it but needed to tow a utility trailer with my ES300. Don't have wiring diagram for the purpose of wiring trailer lights. Bought a unit that converts from 5 wire to four wire. Says:
Red-Brake,
Green-Rt. Turn,
Yellow-L. Turn,
Brown-Park,
White-ground.
Can someone help me find and resolve how to connect to the car harness? What wires connect to what wires in the trunk?

you run a red power wires from the battery to the trunk
then using the kit you splice into the factory brake light wires, and then one of the wires in the hit you ground to the frame using a screw/bolt&nut.
it's very straight forward. im having a hard time understanding what your question is exactly.
the es300 is good for towing. even better with the stick shift. especially your 93's engine. just count on excessive wear on rear brakes and rear suspension. the car has self adjusting brakes that sense rear axle weight, and redirect more brake pressure to the rear brakes.
92 and 93 are probably the best ESs to tow with.
good luck and let us know

Rec'd newsletter email
I just got an automotive newsletter that contained a link to this article. This might not help you, but it might help someone who comes across this thread [maybe in a search]

Thanks, very helpful. But I was hoping someone would know what wire colors are connected to ES300 brake light, left turn light, right turn light and tail lights. Mine's a 1993 ES300 and colors on the Haynes Wiring Diagram are not correct. But, I like the link you sent that describes using a test light. I may try that.

go there, see the pics
I recommend checking the FSM or any guide that came with the harness. I don't remember what went where, I don't feel like taking the harness and trying to figure this out right. I already was trying to be nice to go do this for you. I think you should get a multimeter and check for voltages when your blinker is on, and you will quickly figure this out. It should not take long, assuming your kit is complete and you have some idea.
Note where I am pointing are all the places where wiring goes.
See the black electrical tape, too.
Note that I have taken my harness off, only 3 weeks ago about. It is a shame you asked just right after, else I could have give you more details!
Good luck my friend, and keep on ES 300 - truckin' !!
