Rear Strut Mounts
I installed new struts a while back and replaced the 2 front mounts, but decided to keep the original rear ones. Now, one of the rears has a clunking noise when going over bumps, i assume its the bearing.
So I replaced the rear with a Gabriel from Autozone. They said that the rears use the same mount... and that only the fronts need different mounts.. Well, two weeks later, noise comes back.
Does ne1 know if this is correct, that the rears use the same mount?? Cant seem to find any part numbers for the strut assembly..

Thanks

I just installed all new struts and mounts on my '98. The front mounts are different part numbers, while the rear mounts are the same part number.
Many times, the clunking sound in the rear end is the sway bar bushings. I replaced them a few years back to correct the clunking sound. Very easy and very inexpensive to change. I think they cost about $8 each.

That is def worth a check..
The only thing that makes me think its the strut mount, is that the clunking sounds like its coming higher in the suspension.. from inside the car...
Will get to it this weekend as the temp warms up..
