More questions from the New Lexus owner here. Regarding my new to me 05 ES330 that I bought privately. The local Lexus dealer service rep sez yes I have traction control and VSC and that their respective lights do not light unless the system is actually working, that they would not show a light for a few seconds on start up like the ABS light. That is contrary to what I understand from my owners manual. Owners manual sez the 2 squiggly tire light should light for a couple of seconds and then go out. Does not light on my car, nor does the VSC light.

Is there any way for me to determine if I have TC and VSC? I do not have a switch to turn off traction control , but my dealer sez my model has the TC and VSC with no defeat switch.

Is it possible to find out from Lexus how my care was equipped if I contact them with VIN # ?

VSC and Trac will not light up unless they're actually doing anything. You'll see all the dash lights breifly illuminate when you first start the car. If you want to find out what it looks like when VSC or TRAC kicks in, find a snowpacked parking lot with no poles. Punch the gas, turn the wheel, try to lose control of the car. You'll see the VSC light and TRAC light do stuff. There may be an audible alarm when it goes off too.

You can give the VIN to a dealer and they can print off all the standard features, and options list.

If the lights do not briefly illuminate on startup, Then you dont have VSC/Trac Control.
