ES330 Transmission Shifting
I see 35% of the 03-06 ES330 problems are with transmission, but what percentage of these are solved if program update does not work.
What other issues investigation and solutions are appropriate for shifting lunge on ES330 2004 between 30-40 mph? During two visits to the dealer the TC004-03 program was updated for transmission control.
The dealer is trying to tell me I need premium gas. Or that the K&N air filter is causing high flow or oil on flow meter problems. They replace filter w/OEM, cleaned and checked flow meter again as they did last year. I am going to test drive again next week, but do not expect improvement. Last year they talked me into a $500 change to stearing column last year which also did not work.
If I accept insufficient repair and drive it off the lot, the car 70,000 mile powertrain warranty will immediately expire. How can I get help from Lexus Corporation to find root cause solution or to extend the warranty to 100,000 miles to give them time to solve? How do I gain leverage with dealer to fix?
They just said fluid is dirty and low, neither of which were true, when I challenged and had the diagnistic speciallist shop foreman check, instead of technician. I had transmission flush less than a year ago. I test drove and it is not fixed.
TSB # TC004-03 (Revised on April 1, 2005) update is covered under the Lexus Federal Emissions Warranty, which is 8 years or 80K miles (whichever comes first).
Please help.
