Please Help Stereo Problem
I HAVE A PROBLEM. MY STEREO VOLUME **** IS BROKEN AND MY STEREO WON'T SHUT OFF BY PRESSING IT. I REMOVED TWO SCREWS UNDER THE STEREO NEAR THE CUPHOLDERS BUT THE STEREO WONT SLIDE OUT. I WANTED TO KNOW HOW TO REMOVE THE DECK SO I CAN LOOK BEHIND IT.I DONT SEE ANY OTHER VISIBLE SCREWSTO HELP IT OUT.
ANY COMMENTS WOULD HELP THANKS.

there are 4 screwes the hold the head unit. They are circled on the pic.
The bottom is hidden behind a little face cover, just pull the cover off.
the top screws are tougher. The vent needs to be pulled out. Mine is a '92 and it was rather tight. I think I ended up using a coat hanger.
Let me know how it goes. I still have my old head unit that I could sell. Great shape. Only a tape player.

LOL @ Cyperez
yeah I guess that is one way! On my old car it used to get broken into alot.. I got frustrated with having to replace the windows all the time... so i bought plastic windows that dont fade or scratch and very hard to break in... when you do get through the plastic forms spikes around the edge so putting your hand in to try and undo the lock leaves a nasty affect on the thief.
It does not get broken into anymore...
The problem is the damage on the dash... i had my car stripped and all they left with was just 15 ciggarettes.... if they had looked in the trunk they would have found all my tools worth quite a bit of money!
Man.. No man should fool with another mans car!

LOL... well i dont have a handbrake on the center console.. it is based on the floor... to be honest it is a pain! I would rather have the handbrake on the console... but i get alot more room in my console. Is this not normal for a normal ES300? Mines a 92 model.
Also i still havent found out what the button is on top of the steering column
