Need help installing OEM HID's
To anyone who's installed a set of the OEM HID's on their 97-01 ES, I need your help! I posted this in lighting, but was sent here, so hopefully someone can speak up....I know Lexusk8 and a few others have done it (hoebag still around?).....so if you can help, I'd really appreciate it.
I just picked up a set of the HID's, and am questioning what the next step should be. I've got housing, bulbs, and ballasts......ballasts are already wired into the bulbs, so it "appears" that the only thing I need to do is either:
A.) Splice the harness for my stock H7 housing, and connect it to the D2R HID connector.
B.) Purchase a harness that allows me to plug into my H7 on one end, and into the D2R on the other....thus eliminating the need to splice/modify things.
Am I headed down the right path, or have I completely missed something?
Before I got the lights, I was under the impression that I would have to hook my stock wiring harness directly into the ballast first.....but having now seen how the lights are set-up, it looks as though i just run it into the back of my lowbeam connector, which then runs into the ballast to convert the wattage before sending it to the HID bulb itself.

Platinum lights were no different from the standard HID housing........but very different from the halogen....infact, I'm not even certain that all Platinum editions had HID in the first place.
Either way....someone please help me out with this!

if im misunderstood... you cut your factory low beam harness and wired a new harness which connects to the HID headlamp input???
i wired my HID headlamps by cutting my low beam harness and directly connecting them to the input (the white piece directly behind the low beam).... i couldnt find a harness that would fit the input, so i cut and direct wired them.
if you did find a harness that would fit the input... go ahead, cut your harness and wire it up, and it should work!

What I mean is that Platinum Series ES300s came standard with OEM HID lights and found on 2000 and up models (in CA). And YES I believe all platinum series ES300s were equiped with OEM HID.
