Where is the Transmission Shift Solenoid?
#2
There was a posting about this and someone posted the factory service manual about the shift solenoid if you look back a few pages.
Maybe you could post a DIY My tranny is acting up again.

I have the factory service manual, but all it states is to take out the tranny oil pan disconnect the connectors and then take out the solenoids.
But I cannot see any solenoids.

Would this be diy friendly? I got the electrical shift solenoid code from the check engine light code. People have been telling me to replace the tranny even though it was rebuilt 20,000 miles ago..

If you have jackstands, yes it's easy. Alittle time consuming, but not aweful.
It goes ALOT quicker if you have access to an automatic way of getting alot of bolts in & out. Cordless impact driver, cordless drill/driver, impact driver of any kind. Air wratchet.
Keep in mind we're talking 10mm bolts that won't ahve mroe than 9-12ft-lbs put on them. It's simply getting alot of them in & out that takes some time. You could do the whole thing in about 30-45min the second time you did it lol!

Yeah probably, but I wwas taking my time not to F anything up. Man what a pain in the ***. I returned the solenoid and had someone do it for me. Having someone do it for me with them including a new solenoid, came out the same price as me buying the just the solenoid.

Just curious..how much did labor/solenoid cost? And what check engine OBDII code will this repair? My tranny runs roughly and has a hard time shifting. I've gotten the e shift solenoid code, and I'm juts wondering if replacing the solenoid will correct the problem.
