At the moment I do not know of any DIY tutorials on changing the timing belt in the ES. Most people elect to have it changed at the dealership (typically when the mileage is at 90K) since the service is a big service and involves a lot of parts to be removed.

i know my brother works at lexus, he said he hasnt done a timing belt yet so i wanted to get him a turtorial to show em cause im sure he'll know when he see's it all and what parts to take off and stuff

Shouldn't they have a tutorial or reference material at Lexus?
He should be telling you what to do and then you can post that info here :-)

If you dont really know what you're doing I wouldnt suggest doing it yourself unless you have someone who knows Toyotas specifically.... You have to remove your Alt/AC belt, Power Steering Belt, Front motor mount & dogbone, and whatever else is blocking the the timing cover, and even if you think nothing else will keep you from moving the cover, something will, maybe washer jug or P.S. Pump; not really sure. I did mine myself at 75K (age) and it was an all day affair so put your **** clothes on cause you are going to get your *** kicked.... Remove the Crank Pulley and pull the lower cover off and now you should see your entire belt, with both cams and crank sprokets and water pump and tensioner. Now line up your timing marks (get a manual for locations and whatnot). I always make new marks because the old belts marks are never visible anymore (white out) De-tension the belt and take it off and I would suggest replacing the water pump at this time... Installation is the reverse of removal but DO NOT start the engine until you are absolutely CERTAIN the timing marks are lined up.....!!!!! Or just leave it to professionals... Good luck
