Tranny slips on 98 ES
Can any one help me on fixing the tranny slip problem?
I got a 98 ES with 102K miles on it. The tranny slips when it shifts between 1-2 and 2-3. The slippage can be observed more between 1-2 than 2-3. I checked the tranny fluid level and it is good. I am thinking of doing a Tranny flush with Dexron III (manual recommended).
Please help me if I need to check any other things to fix it....

Flush it. Stop driving it until then. Make sure you get it atleast filled back up to the hot fluid marks when you're done & you've shifted into all gear positions to purge the manual valve body of air.

Are you sure that it is Dexron III you have and not the Type-IV fluid? The manual may say one thing, and yet it is different in your car/dipstick. I would stick with the original fluid and not switch between the two. And please do not use any "universal" ATF.

Came back from local pepboys just now. I did an oil change and tranny flush. I requested them to put Dexron III fluid and they replied that they use DEXRON III fluid for all.
If anyone wanna get any services at pepboys make sure you get the print outs of the coupons from pepboys.com. I used 25$ off coupon on 100$ or more. You can 50$$ off if it is 200$ or more. Also there are some mail in rebates if you search on their website...

Hello Guys,
I dont know what went wrong. Still i can feel some tranny slip.It is good for the first couple of days after tranny flush.
Please let me know what else i need to check. I checked the tranny fluid and its full and clean. Please shed some light for checking the other options.
Thanks and I appreciate your inputs...
