Default Advice for New Radio

I have a '94 ES300 w/ cd changer and would like to entertain the idea of replacing the stock radio.

I want to be able to use XM sattelite with it and also be able to plug in my ipod and control it through the HU.

Any ideas?

Default Alpine Cda 9851

I just bought the Alpine CDA-9851 to replace an aging alpine i had in there. Amazing performance, adjustment and ipod control. HIGHLY recommend this deck. It cost me $279 at soundtrack.

I wish I could get that unit. That is a sweet player. However, it won't fit my '94 ES.

According to Bestbuy.com

thats because bestbuy.com thinks there is no such thing as a dash kit for your car. I run a 96 and it looks great. Also look at the dimmensions they have listed. Last friday they thought this radio had the height, width, and depth of a piece of bread. So just go find the adapter for your car, make sure its for a single DIN unit and your all set. As someone who works in the technology business you learn never to trust what big outlets say.

Btw last night i hid the wiring for my mp3 player in the console. And its nice.

also check out www.crutchfield.com.. they carry alpine units, have iPod info, HU fit check, side-by-side comparision and excellent customer service. buy from them and they will give you the HU adpater kit and wiring harness (if available) for free and also mastersheets on how to take the console apart for the oem speakers, HU, and amp. free shipping over a certain price purchase! also register for their free catalog.

i'm considering upgrading my alpine to the 9833 (on sale now $299, was $450 )
