I say 5 spoke, but you will have to get a drop after...

Also, what brand is that?

both wheels have thin spokes so much of the brakes are going to show through. That means any rust and dirt is going to be obvious. The seven spoke will give the viewer more wheel to look at instead of what is behind the wheel. Both are very sharp, but I would go with the 7.

Consider also painting your hubs and calipers.

im partial to 7 spoke with a lip. steviej made a good point about how the brakes would be exposed.

I like the 5 spoke for the ES as it is perfect and classy. The mesh rims look nice, but are too sporty for an ES.

well, i just got new pads, rotors, and front calipers (a $1700 job) so for the most part everything behind there is pretty shiny and new. theres some stuff in the rear thats a little rusty, but not too bad. so that's not as much of a concern.

HB is right... Real 18" Racing Harts aren't so bad, around 1,200 for the wheels, maybe 400 or 500 for tires.

so what if he get knockoff's as long as he likes them. if you don't want him to get knockoffs just buy him "REAL" rims so you can be happy. ok
